FAQ - freeSMS

When sending an SMS the resulting cost is only of the data tariffs (via GPRS) you agreed upon with your mobile phone provider (cellity itself charges you nothing!). In order to receive new messages the application contacts the server from time to time. While the freeSMS application is running, it will trigger these requests (using less than 1kb) in the background in increasingly longer intervals after activity (in order to save network traffic).

Simply register with the online form located on our webpage. You will then receive a SMS with a download link, which you click. After downloading onto your phone will ask you to install the application. Please follow the on-screen instructions. Once the application is installed on your Java enabled phone you can start it. You can also register comfortably over your mobile phone. Simply goto the mobile wap site wap.cellity.com with your mobile phone browser, and follow the on-screen instructions.

If you cannot download freeSMS by GPRS, this is because of incorrect or existing WAP/GPRS profiles on your mobile phone. Many mobile manufacturers and network carrier providers offer a configuration SMS, with which you can easily implement the necessary profiles in your mobile phone.

If you do not receive your activation code in a traditional SMS then please contact en-support(at)cellity.com stating your phone number.

The recipient(s) of your sent freeSMS messages must also have the freeSMS client installed on their mobile phone in order to be able to receive and read it. If a receiver should not yet use cellity freeSMS, he will get a traditional SMS stating part of your message together with a download link. Only after having installed the software for free on his mobile phone he can receive and read your full message.

If your receiver does not have cellity freeSMS currently open, they will immediately receive a free unanswerable PING call free of charge (call number identification +496966102800). Thus they know that a SMS is ready and can be viewed by opening freeSMS.

Add the cellity Ping number +496966102800 to your phone book with the name "cellity freeSMS Ping".
