twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send "updates" (text-based posts, up to 140 characters long) via SMS, instant messaging, email, to the twitter website where your friends or groups can see. You have to be registered to be able to twitter using the cellity Communicator.
The cellity communicator allows you to post your twitter blogs for free via GPRS without having to be at your computer (ie. you don't have to pay the SMS costs of the conventional method) just the data traffic as charged by your provider.
Setup the communciator as following:
Options > list of services > activate new service. Choose "twitter" and enter your username and password. Afterwards select "continue". The twitter service is now setup completely. View the timeline to see your friends´status updates and send them direct messages. Use the menu to send own status updates.
After the first startup of the Communicator you will be asked if you like to setup an external e-mail service to be able to receive your email from yahoo, googlemail, hotmail etc. via the cellity Communicator. You can skip this step if you like to set it up later using the options:
Options > list of services > activate new service. Please choose "external email". Enter your email address and press continue. If we detect your email provider automatically, just enter your password and the service is ready to use. If we are not able to detect your email provider please enter the necessary data manually to complete the setup. Please contact your email provider if you do not know the required data.
What is free mobile email?:
Free mobile email is now included for free inside cellity Communicator. The
only charges are for the data transfer as per contract with your Network
Provdier. It can be used anywhere and at anytime.
How to set it up?:
Upon first use please do the following to setup cellity Communicator for
mobile emailing: goto Options - Messaging - Email Address. Insert the email
address you would like to use for yourself (eg. yourname@cellity.com) It must
contain at least 6 characters and not be in use by another cellity member.
Free mobile email for cellity Communicator works as following:
Simply open cellity Communicator and goto: Messages - Compose Message - select email - choose the contact you wish to send it to or enter the email address manually. Now enter the message you wish to send (this can be unlimited in length 1 character = 1 byte for data transfer calculations). That's it now just press send. You can also send a mobile number if you don't have the persons email address - It will then be sent as a freeSMS to this user (so they will need Communicator installed on their phone to read it).
Tips for setting up Communicator with your personal email account:
You can have all messages from your normal personal email address forwarded to your cellity email and have people reply to it as well! This is a 2 step
process.
First in your normal email you must configure it to forward messages to your
cellity email address. Please visit our FAQ's and read How to Forward emails

cellity Communicator is free to download and install (except for the internet GPRS charges as charged by your provider).

There are two types of messaging services available with Communicator:
1) Regular SMS. There is a small fee for sending a regular SMS
2) freeSMS. This is free to send and receive since these messages are sent via the internet. The only cost is the data traffic as charged by your provider. Please check your GPRS costs with them. Also please note to view the complete message the receiver must also have Communicator or freeSMS installed on their phone.
Download and Installation instructions:
* Goto our homepage: www.cellity.com
* Enter your details (most important that your full international phone number is correctly entered and displayed here) and press Next. Select the cellity Communicator button, enter your email, security code and then Next. A download SMS will now be sent to your phone number.
* Open the SMS once it arrives.
* Open the Link/web address in the SMS message. This is handled differently depending on your phone. With Sony Ericsson devices you can just highlight the link and select it, on some Nokia's you must select Search from the Menu then Web Address. (Please check your phone's manual or contact cellity support if you are unable to select the link).
* Allow access to internet when questioned (ensuring you have your GPRS settings correct).
* Accept and tick the User Agreement checkboxes, then select the Continue button at the bottom of the page.
* Follow the onscreen installation instructions.
* Start cellity Communicator (located in your Programs, Applications, Games, or Media folder depending on where your phone saves it).
* Allow Internet Access.
* After the "Testing Connection" message you will be activated and can start using cellity Communicator!

After the download and installation, cellity Communicator is either in the Program, Application or Games folder of your mobile phone.
In most cases it is started automatically directly after the installation. For later usage you must start cellity Communicator manually.
Once celllity Communicator starts please answer “Allow” or “Yes” to the question “Permit/Allow Internet Connection?”.
You are now in the cellity contacts list of cellity Communicator. To acess the various functions of the application open the main menu by selecting Menu/Options.
If your phone supports it you can import your contacts from your internal phone book. To do this goto:
Options/Menu -> Options -> Contacts -> Import Contacts
Then it is simply a matter of highlighting or selecting the contact you wish to call and selecting Call from the menu.
Our server then calls you and then the recipient connecting your calls.
If your phone does not support the phone contacts import then you must enter your contacts in manually (however only once after that the contact will be saved in the cellity contact list). To do this simply:
Select New Contact -> Enter Name -> Select contact type Single or Group (to make a group call) -> Then enter the contacts phone number followed by Save.
You can top up your cellity funds by either of the following:
via My cellity webpage: (www.mycellity.com)
goto My cellity -> My Account -> Top Up -> then select the amount you wish to add with any of the available payments options (currently: UKCash, Moneybookers, ClickandBuy, PayPal, Credit Card, voucher)
via your mobile phone:
Within your cellity application goto Menu -> Account -> Recharge. Here there are many available payment options for you (UKCash, Moneybookers, ClickandBuy, PayPal, Credit Card, voucher). If you select WAP Payment a SMS with a payment link will be sent to you. This will provide you with even more secure payment options!

There are two ways to start a groupCALL (conference call):
1) The first way is to select Instant conference call from the main menu. Then you can select as many contacts as you want to add to your conference call. You are also able to add phone numbers manually via the menu. You then select call after which you will be called back and then each one of your recipients will be called and connected to you. After the call you will then have the option to create a new group contact from this conference. Select Yes, give the group a name, and it will be saved in your contact list.
2) The second way enables you to create a group contact which you can save and quickly use again in the future. Select New contact/group from the main menu or from the top of the contact list, enter a name for the group, select Group for the Contact Type, Save, and then add as many contacts as you want to create this group, and then select continue.
Now you are able to simply call/message the whole group just by highlighting the group in the contact list and selecting call or compose message!
cellity Communicator allows for two types of messaging: a reducted price regular SMS (normal text message) and a free message (message which is sent via the internet).
Regular Message
To send a regular message (normal SMS):
- Select Compose message from the menu or goto Inbox -> Compose message.
- Choose regular message and then type the message you wish to send. This message is limited to the normal mobile messaging constraints (160 characters per SMS).
- Next you select the recipient(s) you wish to send the message to.
- Here you can also enter a number that does not already exist in your contacts list by selecting New number from the Options.
- To see how much the message will be check Get Price in the Options.
- Next select Send and your regular message will be sent with a confirmation screen displaying how much it has cost.
free message*
To send a free message (message sent via the internet):
- Select Compose message from the menu or goto Inbox -> Compose message.
- Choose free message and then type the message you wish to send. A free message can contain up to 2048 characters!
- Next you select the recipient(s) you wish to send the message to.
- Here you can also enter a number that does not already exist in your contacts list by selecting New number from the options.
- Next select Send and your free message will be sent with a confirmation screen.
Please note: that for a free message the receiver must have cellity Communicator or cellity freeSMS on their phone to view the full message. Otherwise they will only receive part of your message together with a download link to install cellity Communicator on their phone.
* While cellity itself charges nothing for this message type your provider may still charge for the data traffic of the message. Please check your network providers GPRS costs to see how much you may have to pay.
Our free message* feature is a message that is sent via the internet. Choosing to send a free message allows you to type a message up to 2048 characters! Please note: That for a free message the receiver must have cellity Communicator or cellity freeSMS on their phone to view the full message. Otherwise they will only receive part of your message together with a download link to install cellity Communicator on their phone.
To view the free messages you have received they will appear in the Inbox of cellity Communicator. If cellity Communicator is not open when you receive a new message then you will receive a short unanswerable Ping call from +496966102800, otherwise if it is open you can refresh your inbox to manually check or Communicator will download the message on it's next server check (approx. every 5mins).
Top Tip: Add +496966102800 to your phone book as 'cellity Ping call' this way you quickly know when you have a new message and can open the Communicator to check.

Only for the free messaging feature. All other features, calling, conference calling and regular messaging to do require the receiver to also have celltiy Communicator.
For free messages the recipient(s) of your sent messages must also have the cellity Communicator (or freeSMS) client installed on their mobile phone in order to be able to receive and read your full message. If a receiver should not yet use cellity freeSMS, he will get a traditional SMS stating part of your message together with a download link. Only after having installed the software for free on his mobile phone he can receive and read your full message.
Yes a GPRS connection is necessary for using cellity Communicator. The resulting cost is that of the data tariffs (via GPRS) you agreed upon with your mobile phone provider. All cellity products are optimized for minimal data traffic.
A typical phone call will transfer 0.5kb of traffic independent of call length.
A freeSMS message will transfer 1byte for every character in your message. So a very long messge of 2048 characters will equate to 2kb.
Using this feature of cellity worldCALL you can trigger a conversation from your mobile phone redirecting the call-back to another device. Let's say you are from Italy and are travelling in the USA. You now use your cell phone to tell cellity to connect your hotel room phone wth your mother's phone back home in good old Milan. Why do this? Because this way you avoid expensive roaming charges for your cell phone. The server will then not call back your cell phone, but to the device you specified, e.g. the landline phone in the US hotel and when you answer it will call and connect you to your mom overseas.
The remote call feature is only available in certain supported countries. You can enable the feature by selecting:
Options/Menu -> Options -> Expert Mode: On
You will now have the remote call option in the main menu if you country is supported.
In the main menu of cellity Communicator please select New remotecall.
Select the contact you wish to call (or enter a new number by selecting the menu option) and then press Call
Now enter the telephone number of the phone you wish to hold the conversion with, instead of your mobile phone. Either fixedline or mobile phone numbers are possible. (On some mobile phones you can even select a number from your mobile phone's contact list or from contacts previously saved in the cellity contact list).
Continue with Options/More -> OK
Our server then calls your remote number and then the recipient connecting your calls.
You can now see on your mobile phone the option to Terminate Calls in the menu. This will terminate all participants in the current remote call discussion.
If your phone supports it you can goto: Options - Contacts - Import Contacts.
If this option is not available then unfortunately you will have to manually add all your contacts to your contact list. To get to your Contacts list from the main screen click on Contacts (the top menu option).
Don't forget to backup your contacts list after you have entered your contacts so next time you install Communicator you can restore them from our server. (Options - Contacts - Backup contacts).
cellity Communicator provides a free backup contacts feature. This enables you to save your whole cellity contact list on our server to be accessed by you at any time you use cellity Communicator. Therefore if you loose or switch your phone or need to reinstall Communicator you can quickly and easily download your contact list from our server! Your personal contact list is encrypted on our server so feel secure no one else will access it.
To backup your contact list goto:
Options/Menu -> Options -> Contacts -> backup contacts
To restore and download your contacts goto:
Options/Menu -> Options -> Contacts -> restore contacts
If you cannot download Communicator by GPRS, this is because of incorrect or existing WAP/GPRS profiles on your mobile phone. Many mobile manufacturers and network carrier providers offer a configuration SMS, with which you can easily implement the necessary profiles in your mobile phone.

If you do not receive your activation code in a traditional SMS then please contact www.cellity.com/en/service/contact.html stating your phone number and network provider name.
You can specify in the options whether your call number will be indicated to your receivers or not. cellity Communicator cannot use the phone's settings for this feature, so you have to activate these settings again within the application. By default the option is set to show the caller ID.
Unfortunately due to the nature of our call back technology you will be charged roaming costs by your network provider when using our applications abroad. However you can bypass roaming costs by using the remote call feature of celltiy Communicator. Activate the remote call feature by turning on Expert Mode in the options. Then by selecting remote call in the main menu you can redirect the call back to a local phone you have access to (eg. your hotel phone).
(Note: Not all countries are supported for the remote call feature).
